MEGAN Fox hasn’t been lined up to play the lead role in a rework of Red Sonja — despite recent reports to the contrary.
It had been claimed that Transformers star Fox was the hot favorite to replace Rose McGowan in the upcoming film.
It was also claimed that producer Robert Rodriguez had abandoned the picture along with McGowan.
But Fox’s rep has spoken out to set the record straight, insisting she hasn’t been offered a part in the movie.
Red Sonja – first released in 1985 — originally starred Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The remake has been in the works for some time; it’s unsure if the project is still in development.
Meanwhile, Fox, 23, is said to have turned down the chance to be the next Lara Croft in new Tomb Raider movie because she hates being compared to the film franchise’s original star, Angelina Jolie.
“The offer has been on the table for Megan for a while but she’s reluctantly turned it down,” a movie insider said last month. “She’s the logical choice to play Lara and she loves the character but the comparison with Angelina is too much.
“It looks like the movie will now star an unknown.”
