Megan Fox Learned How to Use Guns as a Child

Her dad was a duck hunter.

Megan Fox is no stranger when it comes to guns. The bombshell actress takes shots at bad guys in the Old West in her new movie Jonah Hex, and in a new interview she talks about how it’s not the first time she’s ever whipped out a pistol.

Jonah Hex, a sci-fi westerner based on the comic book of the same name, stars Josh Brolin as the title character, a scarred vigilante and bounty hunter who is offered a way out of the warrants on his head if he tracks down the evil Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich).

Megan Fox stars as a Lilah, a prostitute who falls for the mysterious drifter Hex, while helping him battle baddies with the use of her own deadly firearms. But as for Fox herself, she doesn’t really like guns. In fact, she’s terrified of them.

“As a grown adult, I don’t mess around with guns at all,” Fox says in an interview with MTV. “I have a fear of them. But as a child, I grew up in the South — I grew up in Tennessee — and my dad as a hobby was a duck-hunter. He used to go kill ducks and bring them home and we would eat them for dinner.”

“He taught me how to use a shotgun,” she says. “When I was like five or six years old, we went target shooting with shotguns.”

“So, I’ve handled a gun before,” added Fox. “But in the movie, it’s my first time. It was actually way more difficult than I anticipated it being. It’s hard.”
